Why travel to Zadar?

Zadar is perfect if you want history without the crowds of Dubrovnik, plus a dash of quirky creativity. The Old Town is alive with Roman forums, Venetian gates and lively cafés. The Sea Organ and Greeting to the Sun are unique experiences – where else can you hear music made by the sea? Zadar is also a launchpad for exploring Croatia’s best national parks and uncrowded beaches. Downsides? The city center can get busy at sunset and summer heat can be intense. Some beaches are pebbly rather than sandy and the old town’s cobbles can be slippery when wet. Still, Zadar’s blend of old and new and its laid-back vibe, make it a true Adriatic gem.
