Why travel to Zakopane?

Zakopane is a paradise for hikers, skiers and anyone who loves mountain landscapes. In winter, it transforms into Poland’s top ski resort, while summer brings endless trails, wildflower meadows and crystal-clear lakes. The town is also famous for its unique Zakopane-style wooden architecture, vibrant Krupówki Street and rich highlander traditions. You can sample local Oscypek cheese, relax in thermal pools or catch a folk festival for a taste of local life. Weather is famously changeable – pack for rain, sun and sudden cold snaps, even in summer. The town is touristy, but step off Krupówki and you’ll find quiet corners, mountain villages and true local charm.
