Why travel to Gramado?

Gramado is a feast for the senses: the scent of chocolate and fondue drifts from cozy cafés, hydrangeas and lavender bloom everywhere and the city’s half-timbered facades make you feel like you’ve landed in a German fairytale. There’s plenty to do for all ages – ride pedal boats on Black Lake, marvel at Mini Mundo’s tiny cities or visit Snowland, Brazil’s first indoor snow park. The city is also a gateway to the Romantic Route, with neighboring Canela offering waterfalls and adventure parks. Gramado is very safe and welcoming, but as with any tourist hotspot, pickpocketing can happen in crowded areas – especially during festivals or at popular spots like Lago Negro and Rua Coberta. Prices can be high in peak season (Christmas, Easter) and some restaurants and shops near main attractions are expensive. Tap water isn’t recommended for drinking, so stick to filtered or bottled water.
