Why travel to Sozopol?

Sozopol is one of Bulgaria’s oldest towns, founded as Apollonia by the Greeks over 2,600 years ago. The Old Town is a living museum, with winding alleys, charming churches and medieval stone walls offering breathtaking sea views. There’s a lively cultural scene in summer, with open-air concerts and the famous Apollonia Festival. The beaches – Central and Harmani – are sandy and inviting, while the local food scene is all about fresh fish and traditional Bulgarian flavors. It’s a fantastic spot for history buffs, romantics and anyone who loves a relaxed seaside vibe. Just know that Sozopol can get crowded in peak summer, especially in the narrow streets of the Old Town. Parking is limited and the beaches fill up quickly, so visiting in late spring or early autumn is a great way to enjoy its magic with fewer crowds.
