Sand Dunes, Surf and Sunsets

Mui Ne is a small coastal town in Vietnam’s Binh Thuan province. It stretches along a stretch of sandy coastline where wind and sun shape daily life. The area features long beaches with soft sand, gentle waves and bright blue skies most days. Local markets sell fresh seafood and tropical fruits grown nearby. Bike rides through coconut groves are common and the landscape shifts between flat plains and rolling dunes. Mui Ne attracts travelers looking for relaxed vibes without big city crowds or heavy tourist infrastructure.

Why travel to Mui Ne?

Mui Ne is a dream for anyone who loves the outdoors. You can ride a quad or slide down the Sahara-like sand dunes at sunrise, learn to kitesurf in the steady ocean breeze or wander the magical Fairy Stream – a shallow, red-hued creek winding through surreal rock formations. The fishing harbor and morning market give you a glimpse of authentic local life, while Nguyen Dinh Chieu Street is lined with lively bars, seafood restaurants and beach resorts. Sunsets here are unforgettable and the nightlife is relaxed but fun. But Mui Ne isn’t perfect: the main beach suffers from erosion in places and the area can feel touristy, especially in peak season. Wind can be strong (great for kitesurfers, less so for sunbathers) and touts may be persistent at popular attractions. Still, the unique landscapes, water sports and easy-going atmosphere make Mui Ne a must-visit on Vietnam’s coast.
