Why travel to Uganda?
Uganda's appeal lies in its remarkable diversity of landscapes and wildlife packed into a relatively compact country. Often called 'The Pearl of Africa,' it boasts some of the continent's most impressive natural wonders, including mountain gorilla habitats, the mighty Nile River and Lake Victoria. The country offers exceptional wildlife viewing opportunities with more affordable and less crowded safari experiences than some of its East African neighbors. However, travelers should be prepared for certain challenges. The rainy seasons (March-May and September-November) can make travel difficult, with dirt roads becoming muddy and hard to navigate, especially when visiting national parks. While major tourist areas have improved infrastructure in recent years, facilities in more remote regions can be basic. It's advisable to have a 4WD vehicle when traveling during wet seasons and to carry appropriate clothing for both warm days (temperatures can reach up to 33°C) and cooler evenings, particularly in highland areas.
