Why travel to Formentera?

Formentera is a dream for anyone who loves natural beauty and a slower pace. The beaches – like Ses Illetes, Migjorn and Cala Saona – are among the best in Europe, with shallow, crystal-clear water perfect for swimming and snorkeling. The island’s bohemian spirit is alive in its beach bars, artisan markets (like La Mola) and sunset gatherings. Inland, you’ll find salt flats, pine woods and sleepy villages with whitewashed houses. It’s ideal for cycling, walking and exploring hidden coves. But Formentera isn’t for everyone: there’s no airport, so you must arrive by ferry (usually via Ibiza) and in high summer the island gets busy and prices rise. Taxis can be scarce and you’ll want to book accommodation and ferry tickets well ahead. The island limits vehicles in peak season for ecological reasons, so check rules if you plan to bring a car. Still, Formentera’s magic is in its simplicity and wild beauty – if you’re after a true escape, it’s hard to beat.
