Best destinations to visit in March in North America

March brings one of the busiest travel stretches of the year to North America, driven largely by spring break season.

College and school breaks send a wave of travelers toward warm weather spots, filling beaches in the Caribbean, Mexico and the southern United States. Mountain regions further north hold onto their ski season too, with reliable snow lasting well into the month at higher elevations. Northern cities stay cool and sometimes still snowy, though the days grow noticeably longer as the month goes on. Prices in the most popular spring break destinations tend to climb during peak weeks, so timing a trip around the busiest dates is worth planning for. Golf destinations in the south also see a steady rise in visitors this time of year.

The destinations on our list for North America reflect that same split between snowy mountains and warm spring break escapes.
