Búzios is much drier than the Rio coast, with beach days possible even in the rainy season

Why travel to Armação dos Búzios?

Búzios is all about beach-hopping and soaking up the good life. Each beach has its own personality: Geribá is perfect for surfers, Azeda and Azedinha are tranquil coves for swimming and Ferradura is great for families. The town’s heart, Rua das Pedras, is packed with boutiques, bars and restaurants that buzz late into the night, while the Orla Bardot boardwalk is perfect for a sunset stroll. You can hop on a boat tour, try diving or snorkeling or just relax with a caipirinha in hand. On the flip side, Búzios can get crowded and pricey in high season (especially December–March) and traffic jams are common on weekends and holidays. Some beaches get rough waves and currents, so always check local conditions before swimming. In the wet season (mainly March), rain can be heavy and some basic supplies might run low. Still, the peninsula’s beauty and energy make it a place you’ll want to return to again and again.
