Why travel to Bellagio?
Come to Bellagio for its breathtaking lake views, lush gardens like Villa Melzi and the sheer joy of wandering its narrow, pedestrian-only streets lined with artisan boutiques and local trattorias. The town is compact and walkable, with plenty of opportunities to relax by the waterfront, sip wine on a sunny terrace or hop on a ferry to explore other Lake Como villages. Don’t miss the Romanesque Basilica of San Giacomo or a stroll up iconic Salita Serbelloni for those famous postcard views. On the flip side, Bellagio can get extremely crowded in peak summer – especially midday when day-trippers arrive – so try visiting in spring or early autumn for a quieter, more magical experience. The town’s steep stairways and cobblestones are charming but can be tough for those with mobility issues or heavy luggage. Prices are higher than in many other Lake Como towns and parking is limited, so plan ahead if you’re driving.
