Why travel to Varadero?
If you dream of endless beaches and warm, clear water, Varadero is the spot. The all-inclusive resorts make it easy to unwind, but there’s more to explore: vibrant markets, art galleries, lively bars and even a taste of Cuban culture in music-filled cafés. Watersports are huge here – think diving, snorkeling, sailing and kitesurfing. For a change of pace, check out the Varahicacos Ecological Reserve, ancient caves or take a day trip to nearby Matanzas or Havana. Just know that Varadero is built for tourists, so it can feel less authentically Cuban than other towns. Summer brings heat, humidity and crowds, while occasional shortages (like cash or certain goods) can happen. Watch your belongings on the beach and be mindful of strong currents when swimming.

- Plan at least one non-beach day, like a Havana or Cayo Blanco excursion, to balance resort time with authentic Cuban experiences.
