Why travel to Mykonos?
Mykonos is legendary for its vibrant nightlife, glamorous beach clubs and cosmopolitan vibe, but there’s so much more beneath the surface. Spend your days exploring pristine beaches, wandering the maze-like streets of Mykonos Town or taking a boat trip to the sacred ruins of Delos. The sunsets from Little Venice or the windmills are unforgettable and every corner offers a photo opportunity. Foodies will love the fresh seafood and local specialties, while adventure-seekers can dive, windsurf or bike the island’s hilly backroads. Downsides? It’s expensive, especially in peak season and the crowds can be intense in July and August. Some beaches and towns are party-centric-great if that’s your thing, but less so if you want peace and quiet. Tap water isn’t drinkable and the island’s popularity means you’ll want to book accommodation and ferries well in advance.

- Bring windproof layers; the Meltemi can be strong, even on sunny beach days.
- Use buses or water taxis for beach hopping; driving and parking get stressful in summer.
- Go to Delos early for history, then wander Mykonos Town at sunrise for empty lanes.
