Best destinations to visit in June in North America

June kicks off the busiest travel season of the year across North America, as summer break sends families on the road all at once.

National parks are fully open by June, with snow cleared from most high elevation trails and campgrounds running at full capacity. The Caribbean and coastal Mexico stay warm, though Atlantic hurricane season officially begins this month, a detail worth checking before booking a trip near the coast. Northern regions and Canada warm up nicely too, with long days that suit road trips and time spent outdoors. Ski season has wrapped up almost everywhere by now, aside from a handful of glaciers at very high elevation. Coastal towns along both oceans also start filling up quickly as the weather turns reliably warm.

The destinations on our list for North America reflect that same shift into full summer, wherever in the region you choose to head.
