Why travel to Nusa Dua?
Nusa Dua is ideal if you’re after Bali’s sun and sand without the crowds or chaos. The beaches are pristine and safe for swimming, with plenty of water sports, shaded loungers and beachside service. Resorts here are world-class, offering everything from spa days and golf to kids’ clubs and gourmet dining. There’s a cultural side too-don’t miss the Devdan Show for a taste of Indonesia’s rich traditions or the Pasifika Museum for a surprising collection of Asia-Pacific art. For a change of pace, you’re just a short drive from Jimbaran’s seafood dinners, Uluwatu’s dramatic temples and the surf breaks of the Bukit Peninsula. That said, Nusa Dua can feel a bit “bubble-like”-it’s purpose-built, secure and more international than Balinese. If you crave local street life or authentic village atmosphere, you’ll need to venture outside the enclave. Prices are higher than elsewhere in Bali and the area can feel sanitized to some. Still, if you want a relaxing, easy holiday with all the trimmings, it’s hard to beat.
