Why travel to Hilton Head Island?
Hilton Head is a dream for anyone who loves the outdoors – bike the flat, shaded trails, play a round on championship golf courses or kayak through salt marshes teeming with birds and dolphins. The beaches are wide and welcoming, ideal for swimming, sandcastle building or simply soaking up the sun. Off the sand, you’ll find everything from deep-sea fishing and dolphin cruises to live music, art galleries and Gullah cultural tours. Foodies can feast on fresh seafood and Southern classics at over 250 restaurants. But there are a few things to keep in mind: the island gets busy during summer and holidays, so book accommodations and activities early. Traffic can be heavy at peak times and parking near popular beaches fills quickly. Mosquitoes and no-see-ums can be bothersome in the warmer months, especially near marshes. Still, with its friendly atmosphere, natural beauty and endless activities, Hilton Head is a coastal escape you’ll want to return to.
