Best destinations to visit in June in Asia
June splits Asia sharply between regions turning wet and regions still enjoying some of their best weather of the year.
India's monsoon typically arrives in June, and much of mainland Southeast Asia sees its wet season begin around the same time, with heavier and more frequent rain than earlier in the year. Away from the monsoon's reach, many islands elsewhere in the region run on a separate dry season schedule and stay clear and sunny well past June. Mountain regions across the continent also remain largely dry and comfortable, untouched by the lowland rains building elsewhere. East Asia enters its own rainy stretch too, known in Japan as tsuyu, before the heat of midsummer takes over later in the year.
The destinations on our list for Asia lean into that dry side of the split, from island getaways to cooler mountain regions still clear of the rain.
