Best destinations to visit in November in Africa
November brings the short rains to much of East Africa, turning the dry season landscape green again in a matter of weeks.
These rains tend to be lighter and more scattered than the long rains later in the year, and many safari camps stay open with lower prices and thinner crowds throughout the month. Southern safari regions also start their wet season around now, with strong afternoon storms and the arrival of newborn animals across several species. Cape Town and the wider Cape region head into a dry, sunny stretch instead, marking the start of one of the best times of year to visit. North Africa stays cool and comfortable, well suited to exploring cities on foot. Layers still come in handy for early mornings across much of the continent.
The destinations on our list for Africa reflect that same range, from a greener, quieter safari season to the start of the Cape's dry summer.
