Best outlet shopping destinations in Europe

Many European outlets are built to look like small villages, with pastel buildings, cobbled lanes and a café on every corner. They are usually near a big city and often reachable by shuttle or train. Outlet shopping in Europe can feel more like a day trip than a chore.

Some travelers arrive when the doors open and leave with three bags. Others come for one pair of boots and stay for the pastries. Shops can close early or all day on Sundays. Sizes follow the European system, so check a chart before you buy. Visitors from outside the EU can often claim back sales tax with a form at checkout.

The destinations on our list include big outlet villages with direct shuttles and plenty of parking. Others are smaller discount shops in old towns where the big sales happen in set weeks. Those need a bit of timing but the savings can be real.
