Best outlet shopping destinations in Asia

Outlet shopping in Asia often starts with a shuttle bus and an empty suitcase. The malls are usually outside the city center, with last season's sneakers, bags and coats at lower prices. Whether the trip is worth it depends on the discount, the travel time and how much you enjoy a fitting room line.

Some travelers plan a whole day around the sales racks, with a list and comfortable shoes. Others just want one good jacket and a long lunch at the food court. Sizes can run small in many Asian brands, so trying things on matters. Tax refund forms are worth asking about at the counter.

The destinations on our list include big outlet malls with shuttle buses and tax refund desks. Others are smaller shopping streets or discount districts where bargaining is part of the fun. Those take more time to explore but they can be where you find something truly different.
