Best destinations to visit in September in Oceania
September brings spring to Oceania, easing the region out of winter just as wildflowers and warmer days start to return.
Western Australia's wildflower season reaches its peak around this time, drawing visitors to see fields bloom across the region for a few short weeks each year. Ski season winds down in the Australian Alps and New Zealand's mountains, though higher resorts can still hold decent snow early in the month. Whale watching remains popular along parts of the coast, with migrating pods still visible offshore. Northern Australia's dry season continues too, keeping conditions warm and comfortable well into spring. Southern cities warm up gradually, though evenings there can still carry a real chill this early in the season, especially inland.
The destinations on our list for Oceania reflect that same shift into spring, from wildflower fields to the last of the season's snow.
